We've hosted so many fun groups over the years. Woodman's is a favorite spot for group events—with plenty of parking and an atmosphere that lends itself to laughter, mingling, and having a good time. The list above is just a sampling of some of the groups that have met here. We'd love to have you add your group to the mix! FREE INVITATIONS — Get Creative!

Reunions—We have guests celebrating reunions of some sort here every week! Whether it’s family, college, co-worker, or friends – they meet here often to reunite and celebrate! Call us for bumper stickers or postcards to use for invitations for your friends . . . Remember to bring your camera!! Email us your photo from your celebration and see it on the web! Business Meetings—Woodman's is a great spot to host out of town clients, and of course the locals who already love us. Many local and not so local business people bring their out of town clients in for a true flavor of New England in an informal setting. Whether you want to introduce them to boiled lobster, fried clams, or our famous clam chowder - we guarantee they will take home a great memory. We're just the right atmosphere to breakdown barriers for a brainstorming meeting over steamers and beer. How about using our Lower Deck as a spot for an off premise office meeting? We can "button down the hatches" (close it off) for your privacy on certain weekdays, and in the dead of winter, even on a weekend!! Give us a call at 978-768-2537—we're creative! Also, remember us for all of your catering needs. We can bring one of our famous NE clambakes to your company, your chosen off-premise site, or even right here at Woodman’s. Our Tent and Top Deck are often available for small events depending on the season. Check out our catering menus. Bus Tours—We love to have Bus Groups—Some are proposals a year ahead of time and some are drop ins—we welcome all buses! Call or email us for our Bus Tour Menus. Call us at 978-768-2537 or email us at groups@woodmans.com with any questions. Woodman’s is a great spot for STUDENT, FOOD and INTERNATIONAL TOURS. If your clients are looking for great seafood, history, and a place where you can dig in and get messy . . . then we are the best spot to guarantee wonderful memories for your clients. Our very large parking lot is a bus driver's dream, with plenty of room to turn around and no need to drive someplace else to park. There is also has plenty of space for kids to run around. We give free Frisbee's to all Student Tours—just let us know you are coming ahead of time. Drop-ins are always welcome yet we may not have the Frisbees on hand. School Groups—We love to have students and teachers come by while they're on a trip to Cape Ann or other surrounding towns. Our service is quick and easy and the kids love the informal atmosphere. We have educational packets available with the history of the restaurant, bumper stickers, postcards, and Frisbees for all students. We can usually find someone to tell the story of how the clam was invented and give lobster demonstrations if you call ahead . . . just let us know! Birthday Parties—If you need to we can work out a surprise or something to make your time special. . . Just call us!!! Yes—and for our niece who just said—“You know, lot’s of kids love Woodman’s. . . well. . . forget the games and clowns but they can spread out with chicken fingers and a lobster for the party girl or boy!!” We’re easy. . . Motorcycle Rides—We are the destination for the end of quite a few motorcycle rides each year. We can always hear them coming! However, if they let us know ahead of time that would be great. Lot's of fun!! Either way they have always been good company. Come on down!!! Cycling Groups—We are the end destination for many cycling groups. They come in and line up after a long ride from somewhere, locking up their bicycles together. Usually hang out at the picnic area overlooking the marshes. Love to cycle?. Organize a group trip; we'll be happy to host you! Doctor’s Meetings—Yes, Doctor's meetings. Beverly Hospital had one of their most well attended meetings at Woodman's one winter—and they showed slides and films and the whole deal. Attendance was great, because it was at Woodman's! We have also hosted pharmaceutical companies meetings for doctors and nurses . . . Just giving some ideas! Golfers—We're just five minutes from Cape Ann Golf Course and Candlewood Golf Club. We are a great spot for lobster, clams, raw bar, and BEER after a fantastic nine holes! Organize a mini tournament, we will help you! Kayakers—Essex River Basin Adventures (ERBA) is just down the street. . You can kayak right up to our tent, well almost. In fact, one of our 4th generation family members defected for work with ERBA—imagine! A great time—eat here afterwards—you'll have worked up quite an appetite!! Runners—We host the annual Essex Lion's Club Turkey Trot every November.Check it out. The race starts and finishes here. Free chowder after the event for all runners. Dog Lovers—We know, we're stretching it now—but we did once have a large group meeting of Canine Lovers. Walk your dog out by the marsh and enjoy your summer meal with him at your side. Hey, we love our dogs too!! Bring yours—but park away from the building so they won't bark for you in the car. Or, weather permitting, take them with you to the picnic area. Sales Rewards—Celebrate success with the whole group at Woodman's or award our Gift Certificates for rewards. Either way they are sure to love it. Lots of fun! Scavenger Hunts—We've been a hot stop for years for as a spot for lots of scavenger hunts to look for something on the wall. Why not end the hunt here and enjoy finishing your fun with a seafood treasure!
