At Woodman’s, our customers are everything to us. And in honor of the 100th Anniversary of the Fried Clam in 2016, we interviewed a few of our customers to learn about their memories of coming to Woodman’s. In this video, we spoke with Karen Burton and her daughter, Hannah, as they visited Woodman’s for the first time.
Karen: My name is Karen Burton, and this is my daughter Hannah. I’m originally from Maryland, but I tell you, I moved up here to Massachusetts in 2003 and you get to have all kinds of seafood, but this has been a very special seafood lunch we had here today at Woodman’s. Isn’t this great?
Hanna: Yeah.
Karen: We wanted to do something really fun for spring break, the kids are off of school and we wanted to go someplace really special for lunch today. I asked a friend of mine, who I teach with, if she has ever been to Woodman’s, and she said, “Of course I’ve been to Woodman’s. You’ve never been to Woodman’s?” I said, “No, I haven’t”. I’ve been here 13 years. So here I am, and we have had the best lunch ever, we had lobster, we had scallops, we had clams. I’ve even had something I’ve never had before, a clam hush-puppy. Boy, that was terrific. We had clam chowder, what else did we have?
Hanna: Lobster?
Karen: Yeah, I mentioned that, but anyway, I was just so glad that my friend that I teach with at school, Jill Flemming, wanted to come here today. Anyway, I’m Karen, she’s Hannah, and hello everybody out there in Facebook land, this is a great place to be.
